The Leviathan is a progressive blackened death metal band from Manchester, England. Since forming in 2011 they have released one full length album, In Darkness it Crawls in 2013 on Asgard Records. .
At least 18 artists have used the Leviathan moniker: 1) Leviathan is the black metal project of American artist Jef Whitehead, aka 'Wrest'. He began the project in 1998. Though he was originally based in San Francisco, California, he later moved and is now located in Portland, Oregon. Leviathan was put on hold in October 2007 due to a legal dispute with the record label. Wrest brought the project back in January 2008 to release Massive Conspiracy Against All Life. Pseudonyms aMUSiC and Leviathan are the ones responsible for the music heard in the non-interactive real-time graphics representation demo group Andromeda Software Development ("ASD"). The group was formed in 1992 as a PC-demo group. In 2003, Leviathan joined the music department alongside aMUSiC and their 2003 demo "Dreamchild" would gain them fourth place in the demo competition at Assembly 2003, and would mark the beginning of their musical shift to progressive metal. Since then, ASD has been succesful in several demo parties. .
TAMUSIC (which stands for Try Arrange MUSIC) is a Japanese doujin music circle formed in 2005. They produce classical arranges (piano, violin, wind instrument, etc.) of various games and anime such as Touhou, AIR, CLANNAD, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest among many others. They maintain an active presence at doujin conventions, social music and video sites, live concerts and overseas events.
