A transforming mixture of Spazz-Rock and good ignorance. Founded in 1998 by Nic Neu, Jenne Kaphorn and Hanno Mewes after quitting their ex-bands Splitter and Party Diktator. The band's name is influenced by an half-intelligent chip called "Chung-O-Chip"™ which was built into slotmachines in the late 1970's. After exeeding the guaranteed win-rate of 101%, the machines were terminated off the market soon. When Hanno left the band in 2000, Chung changed from a 2 guitar and drums lineup to a 4-piece with Timbot Blitzkrieg on bass and Wholehead on synths. Another change happened when Timbot was replaced by Black Mzungu...
Los Chunguitos are a Spanish rumba group from Vallecas, Madrid, formed in 1973. The group's nucleus was the three brothers Juan, Manuel, and Jose Salazar, whose aunt was the flamenco singer Porrina de Badajoz. The band spent some time writing music and demoing songs and eventually demos made their way to Japan. A Tokyo DJ cut some of their demo CD onto 12" records and one of those records landed in the hands of the owner of Tummy Touch Records with the Japanese label reading "beautiful Chungking music"...
Wang Chung is a British new wave musical group. Originally called Huang Chung which is Chinese for "perfect pitch" (though they later claimed it was the sound a guitar made on American Bandstand), the band formed in 1979. The lineup consisted of vocalist/guitarist Jack Hues, bassist Nick Feldman, saxophonist David Burnand a.k.a "Hogg" and drummer Darren Costin. Their self-titled debut was released by Arista Records in 1982 after several singles, including the minor post-punk hit "Isn't It About Time We Were On TV". In 1983, after being dropped by Arista and signed to Geffen Records, they changed their name to...
