Wuyontana (烏雲塔娜, known as ウヨンタナ in Japan) is a vocalist from the Inner Mongolia region of mainland China. She moved to Japan in 1987 to attend Showa Women's University. She began her musical career in college. Throughout her college years she provided vocals for a number of high profile projects including performing at the national 1990 Spring Festival Gala in China (a New Year's Eve musical event equivalent to the Kôhaku Utagassen in Japan) and performing a theme song composed by Yôko Kanno (菅野よう子) for an NHK TV series about China.
