Formed in 1988 the name M-D-Emm was derived from a combination of the original line-up's names - Mark Ryder, Dave Lee & Emmanuel Cheal. However, the group split during 89-90. Mark however continued the project on his own. From 1991 all marks m-d-emm material was released through his label Strictly Underground . Alot of name variations though: M-D-Emm | M D Emm | M-D-EM | M. D. Emm | M.D. Emm | M.D.Emm | Md Emm .

The ska-band ‘Mr.Review’ was formed in Amsterdam in 1983. Drummer Roel Ording and guitar player Arne Visser allready played together in a band when they met ‘Dr. Rude’. The three of them shared an interest in ska and reggae music. For this reason they decided to join forces and start a new band.
