Mesut Cemil (December 1902 - 31 October 1963) was a Turkish musician, the son of Tanburi Cemil Bey. He was a master tanbur player, but also performed and recorded on many instruments, including cello, ud, kemence, lavta, violin, viola, baglama, and other Turkish folk instruments. He was a choir director and an ethnomusicologist who revised some traditional pieces of Turkish music and interpreted them successfully. Mesut Cemil didn't leave many compositions; however, we now know his semai in "makam nihavend" and a short longa in "makam sehnaz". Mesu Kasumai a.k.a. Tangible (based in Detroit, Michigan) is one of the artists beyond the well known Chiptunes net label that is 8bitpeoples. Amongst the many compliations he has appeared on he has also released an album called My Fiero which includes chiptunes covers of songs by artists such as Cyndi Lapuer, Gary Numan, Kim Wilde and New Order. .
