Hemanta Kumar Mukhopadhyay (Bengali: হেমন্ত কুমার মুখোপাধ্যায়; Hemonto Kumar Mukhopaddhae) also known as Hemanta Mukherjee (16 June 1920 – 26 September 1989) was an Bengali singer, composer and producer. He sang in Hindi films under the name Hemant Kumar. Jolly Mukherjee is an Indian singer/songwriter. Known as India's "King of Strings", Mukherjee specializes in the music of Bollywood. His roots include a mixture of Hindustani classical music and Western music. He is known for working with the Madras Cinematic Orchestra, where he combines percussion sampled from Bombay (such as the pakhavaj) with strings from Madras. Made up of members of La Quiete, and Stolen Bikes Ride Faster, Andre played guitar, Ciapi played bass, and Cepo played drums, and they all shared vocals.
