The Slades were a vocal group from Austin Texas, and attended McCallum High School. Personnel included John Goeke, Don Burch, Tommy Kaspar, Bobby Doyle, and Jimmy Davis. Their second recording for Domino records was their biggest; "You Cheated" peaked at number 42 in 1958 on the Billboard charts. It was the original recording of the song, recorded before the Los Angeles based Shields covered it. The Shields had the bigger hit with it. The Slades record was still popular enough to earn them a spot on American Bandstand though. .
Greenslade is an English progressive rock band originally formed in 1972 by Dave Greenslade (keyboards & vocals), Tony Reeves (bass), Dave Lawson (keyboards & vocals) and Andrew McCulloch (drums). Their two-keyboard, no-guitar lineup distinguished them from other bands in the genre. Greenslade and Reeves had been original members of Colosseum. In the 1950s he was pianist / arranger with the Oscar Rabin Band. He has arranged for Jack Jones, Chris Farlowe, Serge Gainsbourg, Cat Stevens, Diana Ross. and Dusty Springfield. For Shirley Bassey he famously arranged Goldfinger and Send in the Clowns.
