Achim Treu, Berlin based composer and producer appeared on the scene in 1997 with his project dauerfisch on the club label bungalow (www.bungalow.de). During his time with bungalow he released three albums and started both remixing and collaborating with acts like Fantastic Plastic Machine, Gentle People, Tim 'Love' Lee, Phoneheads and Peter Thomas. In the following years he continued working on various solo records and composed music for films and commercials. VOF de Kunst is a Dutch Popgroup. The group was founded in 1983 in Tilburg, The Netherlands. The lead singer is Nol Havens. From the start they made some dutch pop songs but in the nineties they began with playing children's songs. Their first single "Suzanne" was a number 1 hit in The Netherlands. The song also reached the charts in several European countries, now released in a translated version, Susanna. At this moment they toured through Europe where they were known as The Art Company. The band, whose German name translates as "colliery surveyor art", was formed by geology students from the University of St. Petersburg, Russia in October, 1992. They started out with hard rockabilly-cum-R'n'B, turned to the blues and later to Latino, Jamaican and other ethnic influences. Markscheider Kunst are a prime example of a truly multicultural band. Frontman Serafim Selenge Makangila hails from Zaire. Kunst als Strafe was originally formed in Berlin in late 1998 by Gerrit Haasler, Rocio Rocha and Goetz Kleinhaus and put in hiatus after first initial test recordings until early 2008 when Nikolai Arnold joined in. In late 2009, Johanna Blackstone joined the troupe during recording sessions for Kunst als Strafe's 1st full length release "Movement Across A Barren Surface". Kunst als Strafe's analysis of pretextual discourse is not narrative, as postcapitalist deconstruction suggests, but subnarrative. Kunstrasen are the MCs "Marabuh" and "Harmzinho" from Osnabrueck, Germany. With them is "Theorie und Praxis" from Troisdorf, Bonn (Germany as well), making the Beats.
