Frode Fjellheim (born August 27, 1959 in Mosjøen, Norway) is a Norwegian Sami yoiker and musician (piano and synthesizer). Since 1997, he has also composed film scores for NRK and Lars Rasmussen's children's films. During the 1990s, he headed his namesake band «Jazz Joik Ensemble», which is currently known by the name of Transjoik. Fjellheim has also been involved in «Tango Concertino». Frode Gjerstad is one of the few Norwegian musicians playing modern improvised music outside the 'ECM-school'. He has chosen to play with foreign musicians because there is no tradition in Norway for free improvised music. His relationship with John Stevens which started in 1981 and lasted up until Stevens' death in 1994 was of great importance both musically as well as on a personal level. Frode Haltli, born 1975, is a Norwegian accordion player. Haltli started to play the accordion at the age of seven and over the following few years he won several national competitions and scholarships. He was awarded first prize in Norwegian TV's Talentiaden 1991.
