The Internationale Nieuwe Scene is a Belgian theatre collective based in Antwerp. It is modelled after the 'Nuova Scena'; an italian collective, famous because of nobel price winner Dario Fo. The internationale Nieuwe Scene was formed after succes of the opera 'Mistero Buffo' in 1970. An adaptation by Arturo Corso of monoloques by Dario Fo. 'Mistero Buffo' was the breakthrough of political theatre in Flanders. The music is mostly based on italian folk songs, the lyrics are written by Wannes Van de Velde.
