It was originally a two-person unit comprised of Yuji Yamakawa and Masanori Sato of the band NIP Sound System, but Yuji left sometime after 2003. Between 2000 and 2003, the NIP name was used for both the rock group and Traffic Jammies-style tracks on various compilation CDs.
