Crossbreed | en

Crossbreed is a mixture of different hard electronic dance styles. The main focus lies with drum and bass and hardcore techno but tracks can also incorporate drumstep, techno or any other hard electronic music genre. The key difference with other genres that borrow elements from certain outside sources is that on a technical level, Crossbreed represents all genres equally. In other words, Crossbreed tracks have the rawness and distortion of hardcore but at the same time feature the funk and crispness of drum n bass, the subtlety and depth of IDM, the heaviness of drumstep/dubstep, the quirkiness of electro and the otherworldliness of dark ambient.

The name "Crossbreed" was first introduced through 3 releases on the Genosha One Seven Five label entitled "Crossbreed Definition Series". DJ Hidden & Eye-D, the founders of this label were also some of the first producers to create Crossbreed. Their first tracks that explored the idea of mixing drum n bass and hardcore were "Times Like These" (DJ Hidden), "Manhunt" (The Outside Agency & Fracture 4), "The Resonators" (DJ Hidden) and "707" (Eye-D). .
