Basically the same thing as psychobilly, but with rawer punk leanings and more open-ended lyrical content. Some punkabilly bands stay apolitical, in the tradition of psychobilly, but others may touch on social or political topics. Most bands tend to use an upright bass in the style of rockabilly or psychobilly, with bass guitars appearing less often. .
