beard punk | en

Form of modern punk. Tends to be a bit slower but more complicated than 90's skate punk. Followed by older punk rockers who see it as way to differentiate from percieved non-legitimate forms of popular punk. It allows the music to be more complex technically and lyrically but stay within the realm of punk rock. Influences can be seen from post-hardcore, 90s emo, folk music and melodic punk rock. Vocals tend to be gruff as opposed to clean like pop punk of this era. It is called beard punk because most of the male fans wear beards, but it is really gruff punk or orgcore .
