Groovy Goregrind's genesis, progenitor and even existence as a sub-genre is arguable, however, the genre is mostly comprised of European and North American bands which utilize ultra-down tuned guitars, guttural vocals (which may or may not include the infamous pig growl), and polka-style or blast beat drums. Notable bands of this genre include: Rompeprop (Netherlands), Cock and Ball Torture (Germany), and Gut (Germany). .
