The earliest known examples of music commonly identified as "Metal" mainly from the late 1960s and early 1970s, these include hard rock pioneers such as Cream , Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, but more obscure Heavy Psych , Hard Blues and Progressive Rock groups that sprung up in the US, UK, and Germany as well.
