Tango nuevo adds new elements into traditional Argentine Tango, most importantly the incorporation of Jazz and Western Classical Music. One of the leading composers of this style was Astor Piazzolla, who revolutionized the genre by introducing new instruments (e.g. saxophone, electric guitar) and new forms of harmonic and melodic structures into the traditional tango ensemble. .
