Trance metal is a term used to refer to bands of the heavy metal sub-genres who heavily use trance atmospheres, imagery or themes. Trance metal characterized by a tempo of between 130 and 160 BPM, featuring repeating melodic synthesizer phrases, and a musical form that builds up and down throughout a track. Vocals are usually combination of death vocals and trance-like singing. Usually these bands take influences from trance , eurodance , dark ambient and industrial based music and nordic melodic death metal bands like Eternal Tears of Sorrow , In Flames and Soilwork.
